Olympian Ellen Walshe Visits Holy Rosary School
On Thursday, 11th June, we were delighted to welcome Olympian Ellen Walshe to Holy Rosary School as part of the Dare to Believe Programme.
Our pupils from 1st to 6th Class gathered for a wonderful assembly where Ellen spoke about her journey to becoming an Olympian, the dedication and commitment it takes to compete at the highest level and the importance of always believing in yourself. The boys and girls had lots of opportunities to ask questions and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Ellen's experiences.
Following the assembly, Ellen also spent some time visiting our Sixth Class pupils in their classrooms, where she continued to chat with them and answer more questions.
The Dare to Believe team played a huge part in making the morning so enjoyable. Two mascots joined the visit, adding plenty of fun and excitement, while all of the children were delighted to receive some lovely gifts from the programme.
It really was a special morning for our school and one that I know the boys and girls will remember for a long time to come. A word of thanks to Ms. O'Hara for all of the work that went into organising the visit, and to Ellen and the Dare to Believe team for taking the time to visit Holy Rosary School.
